Keith Dean, CPA
2018 is Keith Dean’s 10th year working with Florida’s Sheriffs and Deputies. Originally serving as the FSA Controller, he was charged with managing all fiscal operations and special projects including developing the Teen Driver challenge from a government grant to privately-funded program and establishing the Florida Sheriffs Explorers as a 501©3 organization.
The Sheriffs charged Keith with establishing and managing the Florida Deputy Sheriffs Association (FDSA), which he took from a concept into a 10,000-member association with insurance and financial assistance programs, deputy-focused legislative agenda and training. FDSA’s Board of Directors subsequently named Keith as its Executive Director.
With a post graduate degree in Accounting from Florida State University, Keith is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He returned to FSU to serve as supervising instructor of political science courses focusing on political organizations. He serves on the Florida Institute of CPAs’ Legislative Committee and as a resource to legislators and government agencies as an expert in nonprofit subject matter.
