Sheriff’s Office completes ‘Below 100’ training
Officers from the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office, along with law enforcement officers from Franklin, Gadsden, Liberty, Calhoun and Bay counties attended a “Below 100” training seminar, held at Gulf Coast State College Gulf/Franklin Center. The goal of the training was to get the number of police officer deaths in the state of Florida below 100 each year by holding accountable those who stray outside of what is considered common sense.
Man sentenced to death in killing of Brevard Deputy Barbara Pill
A man convicted of killing aBrevard County deputy has been sentenced to death. Brandon Bradley, 24, offered an apology for shooting and killing Pill, but Pill's family said the apology was too little, too late. Bradley shot Pill during a traffic stop in 2012 and his apology carried little weight with the judge.
Taylor County Deputy Robert Lundy Cleared By Grand Jury
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement Tallahassee Regional Operations Center completed its investigation into the use of force involving Taylor County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert Lundy and suspect Earl Edward Clague Jr. The investigation shows Deputy Lundy’s actions saved lives on Feb. 5 when Mr. Clague Jr. crashed a vehicle into the Timberland Ford dealership, exited the vehicle and began shooting.
